I'm pretty sure the suffix -ology means "the study of". So, taking it literally, Scientology is the study of Scient.
What in Xenu's great galaxy is Scient? I'm going with hoax. To be more straightforward, from now on, I'm going to refer to it as Hoaxology.

Scientology is EVERYWHERE in our neighborhood: huge institutes with leagues of security people; bookstores with pyramids of L. Ron books, in every language imaginable, in the windows; men in ties and sweater vests pushing pamphlets on you. I once humored one of them and took the "free stress test." He had me hold these two metal rods that were hooked to a pendulum-type machine, then promptly got right in my face and started asking very personal questions about my past and ex loves. Needless to say, the machine went haywire. Ummm.. yeah, strange dude. I'm stressed. Because you're a stranger who is right IN MY FACE with your personal questions!
